Ho Hum...More Waiting...

11/24/2017

Well, it's now been over a year since I wrote Bill Please: Consumers Driving Health Care and Fill The Gap: Saving Consumer-Driven Health Care. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting to see what, if anything, is going to change with the Affordable Care Act before taking my books on the road, and getting out to speak about them. Still waiting.... Ho hum.

Some in the GOP are trying to now repeal the ACA through the tax bill. This will be interesting....

Meanwhile, don't forget to let your public servants in Washington know that we deserve consumer-driven health care. Yesterday was Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for in America, and we can all fix the mess we all made with health care together.

Just imagine what would happen if health insurance and the government took a holiday from health care -- providers and patients would immediately fix what ails us - opaque, unsustainable, skyrocketing costs. Providers and pharmaceuticals could longer hide behind health insurance or the government - they would have to work directly with patients to create transparent, affordable, high quality health care. It is starting to happen where consumers have high deductibles. They have an incentive to ask questions, they have an incentive to shop, they also have an incentive to take better care of themselves. And don't forget that inexpensive gap insurance can help consumers, and your employees, fill the gap to ensure that they are obtaining the health care they need when they need it.

We can't afford to just tell our representatives to "fix it," we must tell them they must empower us to take the wheel.
